600 On A 600: Hilary Clarke

It seems like forever since we had a 600 On A 600 post, but I’m happy to say that we are featuring Camera 3 on the blog today. Last time we saw Camera 3, Martin Meyrick had it and shot his 8 exposures on the way home from a Polaroid Expedition. This time the camera has made it’s way to Hilary Clarke, another UK shooter.

I have been a fan of Hilary’s work for a while and I was excited to see what she produced. It’s great to say, she did not disappoint.

You can see more of her work on her Flickr page.

From Hilary:

I decided to take the camera on a day trip, so I headed for the seaside. I visited Southport, on the North West coast of England, famous for the fact that while technically being a seaside resort, the sea is always miles away, and there’s long stretches of sand between you and the Irish Sea. It’s where I spent many happy days as a child, enjoying the Pleasureland rides and visiting the shops in the Wayfarer’s Arcade. I think Polaroid photos are brilliant for nostalgic images, so it seemed like a good fit. I walked the length of the pier where there’s a collection of vintage penny arcade machines. That’s where I saw the automaton sailor and I just knew he had to feature in my collection. There are sculptures along the Esplanade, and colorful shops selling ice-cream, and there’s still lots of great images waiting to be made on my next trip. I’m thrilled to be part of this project, I’m loving the photos I’ve seen so far, and looking forward to watching the images roll in as the camera continues its travels.

We’d like to thank Hilary again for being a part of this cameras amazing journey. Also, thanks again to The Impossible Project for helping us make this whole project happen. Please check out their shop for cameras and film to make your own instant memories.
