600 On A 600: Kathy Kinakin

Today we have Camera 2 back on the blog. This post comes from one of our Canadian participants, Kathy Kinakin. Kathy took her 8 exposures while on a bike ride in Vancouver. She used a pack of expired Impossible “Ace Hotel” PX600 Silver Shade. This was an early release and the shots came out beautifully. I’ll let Kathy explain more about her Hotels series.

From Kathy :

During a visit to the Vancouver Art Gallery, I found a pack of this ACE Hotel Impossible Project film and knew what I wanted to do with my eight shots. A tour around Vancouver on my bike revealed many great subjects, some I hadn’t really noticed before even though I’ve lived here for quite a while. I had a very short time to get this project finished and wasn’t able to wait for the right light so I became selective about the hotels I photographed, looking for ones with a character about them that interested me somehow. There is a variety of hotels here, some high end, some not as much, but all interesting not just for their looks but also for their history and place in the culture of the city. One hotel from Victoria snuck in as it is an iconic building and I was there.
The film in the ACE Hotel pack is PX 600 Silver Shade that was produced early on.

We’d like to thank Kathy again for being a part of this cameras amazing journey. Also, thanks again to The Impossible Project for helping us make this whole project happen. Please check out their shop for cameras and film to make your own instant memories.
