Instant Theme: Frozen Land

Last week, we put out a call on our Facebook page for themed submissions. Alyssa Hilde was one of the first to respond. With all the snow the Northeast, US has been getting hit with, her submission could not have come at a better time.

All of these photos were taken in the middle of a FREEZING northern Minnesota winter, Alyssa wrote. The color polaroids were taken with a Polaroid One600, the black and white polaroids were taken with a Polaroid SX-70, and the Fujifilm photos were taken with a Polaroid Land Camera 360.

One of our favorite shots that Alyssa submitted, was captured on her Polaroid 600, using The Impossible Project PX600 Color Protection film. Alyssa said she captured this in -35 degree weather. Because of a steam plant in Alyssa’s town, the water on this lake never freezes and provides a beautiful break of color in this snow covered land.

Thanks again Alyssa, we’d love to see some of that beautiful land when the snow thaws, so keep snapping!

If you have a collection of images that fit a certain theme and would like to see them on the blog, please email us at and put theme in the subject line. We also take single image submittals to be featured on our Facebook page and up coming galleries. Please click the submit tab for all the details.
