Chocolate Film Day

It all started on a Saturday morning on twitter. Anne Bowerman of The Impossible Project, regular contributor J Caldwell, threw out the idea of having our own version of National Chocolate Day. We are so happy to announce and declare October 28th as Polaroid Chocolate Film Day!

Yes, this is your chance to shoot that last remaining pack or two for you lucky people out there who still have some packs of Polaroid Chocolate film. This legendary film is now rarer then ever and this is your day to shoot it and share. We love the coco brown tones of this film and know you do as well.  We have set up a very special Flickr group dedicated to this day and we would love to see what you got! A few rules for this amazing time of year. We encourage all our participants to plan and shoot your last packs on October 26th and 27th. The group pool opens on October 28th for sharing your gorgeous photos, but you can share your existing photos within a discussion thread in the group.  The celebration will culminate on October 28th with a live tweeting and very special post of our all time favorite images. Write it down in your calendars! October 28th will sure be one of the most exciting  and tastiest days on flickr. We are planning a chocolate themed giveaway as well! So get to shooting those last packs!

If you are not familiar with this amazing film, Dr J Caldwell shared a few images to get you motivated to seek it out!

  1. Chocolate Film Day? Ouch, that hurt. I’d love to shoot some, but I don’t have any.

A real shame that Impossible doesn’t have the machines to produce the chocolate & blue peel apart films.
But I think we’re pretty lucky that Fuji still makes the FP 3000B & the FP 100C (may they never stop!!). Those are great films. I just think it would be nice to have some more variation without the hassle of roaming the web in search of (expensive) left over stock. May ‘New 55′ have an alternative soon…!

Anyway, great pics Mr. Caldwell, and, happy shootin’!
