Snap It See It launches Community Forum

Snap It See It launched in January of 2013. Over the past year, we have had the privilege of introducing people to instant film that had never shot it before. We have met some amazing people through Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Flickr. Vendors such as The Impossible Project and Cub & Co. have given us the chance to put cool gear and film into peoples hands. And we have witnessed first hand how people can come together to support a common goal like saving a beloved film stock.

I have mentioned on here before the conversation Francisco and I had when originally discussing the blog. We talked of community. We both agreed that there was something about the people that shoot and love instant film that was different than other groups of photographers. Rarely do you see an argument over which camera model is better. There is not a Fuji vs. Polaroid debate every other posting. We encourage each other to be creative and make mistakes. We answer questions and help out when someone new doesn’t know why the last shot want pull out of their newly acquired land Camera.  We get giddy over $20.00 plastic cameras and lookout for each other when we spot deals on the web or a local craigslist.

Today, I am happy to announce that we have launched the Snap It See It Community Forum! Up at the top of the page, you will see a new tab that says Forum. By clicking that tab you will be taken to a new page of the blog. A page that we hope, over time will expand this amazing community by encouraging conversation and helpful advice. We have included sections for posting images, requesting feedback, discussing gear and a classified section for buying and selling. Here are a few screen shots to give you a basic layout.

We hope you will take the time to login in and have a look around. Introduce yourself, post some images and start a topic. We have had a few people in there already, testing the waters and giving feedback on the categories. I’ll go ahead and say that we are still in BETA, so feedback is appreciated.

Just so you know, the blog isn’t going anywhere. We will continue to have our weekly Artist Spotlights, featured post and the always popular Featured Friday. The forum will just be a way that more of you can have a voice and your work can be seen to a larger group of people that love instant film.
